The Longview Lakers record-breaking season ended in the regional championship game against a team that they had previously beaten twice before in the season. The Lakers lost to regional rival, East Central in what turned out to be a grueling match.

MCC CUTS BACK

The economy is taking hits and everyone is feeling the crunch. MCC is no exception, and Chancellor Jackie Snyder has released the news that MCC will be cutting back.

For one cost-saving move, Longview campus students may want to begin bringing light jackets or sweaters to class.

The Plague Is Coming

Students may think "The Plague Is Coming" button badge on their teacher's vest refers to the final tests next week. And the posters freckling the campus with the same message may make some students concerned.

In fact, "The Plague" is coming to Longview next semester, and so far it seems to be taking a firm grip upon the faculty.

Finally, the end is here, for me at least. The last two and half years I have been trudging my feet at Longview hoping that time spent on general education would pass more quickly. There were times when I wanted to quit altogether and make a mad dash off to a university, and I'm sure a few of you can relate.

"Four Christmases" tells the story of Brad and Kate played by Vince Vaughn ("Fred Clause") and Reece Witherspoon ("Sweet Home Alabama") as they see their families during Christmas vacation for the first time in about three years.

Every year, Brad and Kate would dream up some charity work they were doing in some third world country when in reality they were going on some tropical vacation, this time to Fiji.
